The Cyprus digital ionosonde Station in Nicosia, consists of a digital DPS-4D digisonde which is a digital ionospheric high frequency pulse sounding system (0.4-30 MHz) designed by the Center for Atmospheric Research of the University of Massachusetts – Lowell (USA). The Cyprus digital ionosonde DPS-4D operates since 2008 and is capable of automatically scaling and transmitting in real-time all important parameters characterizing the ionosphere and delivers such products as ionograms, electron density profiles and E-layer and F2-layer peak characteristics, total electron content (TEC).
